Extract the patch zip file to a folder. FTP all the files in that folder to the folder you have Joomla currently installed in. Once completed, you can check this in the admin backend, the current version number is listed in the top right corner.
* If you made any changes to the default templates make a backup of the changes as they may be gone after the update.
