Portal Home > Knowledgebase > SpamFilter Gateway > Someone using my email address to send out email but I never send it before. Why?
When the email 'sent' by the user themselves, we call this as spoofing. The way it works is someone else's computer that contains your domain email in its address book, is infected with a virus. The virus sends unsolicited mail to everyone listed in the book, and uses the electronic mailing address of the person whose computer has been infected as the sender.
If you would like to stop this type of email immediately, you may add the processing rules so that whenever the field 'from' contain the user email address, it will be sent to the Junk folder. However, this only applicable if the user (username@yourdomain.com or username2@yourdomain.com) never send/cc themselves an email.
Please follow the steps given below to create the processing rule:-
